Issue: On certain motorcycles, the meter (instrument cluster) may not have been manufactured correctly. As a result, the turn signals may not work. Safety Risk: Turn signals that don't work may cause a person not to recognize when the rider intends to turn or change lanes and could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Yamaha will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the meter.

Issue: On certain motorcycles, the clutch may not disengage when the clutch lever is pulled in. As a result, the motorcycle could move forward from a stop. It could also cause the motorcycle to move suddenly if you start it and the transmission isn't in neutral (N). Safety Risk: A clutch that doesn't disengage could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A motorcycle that moves suddenly when you try to start or stop it can create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Yamaha will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the clutch discs and clutch plates.

Issue: On certain motorcycles, the wrong bolts may have been used to attach the front brake calipers. As a result, the mounting hole threads could be damaged during servicing. If this happens, the brake caliper(s) could detach and cause a loss of braking. Safety Risk: A loss of brakes can cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Yamaha will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the front brake caliper mounting bolt(s). If incorrect bolt(s) are found, the dealer will also inspect the front caliper mounting hole threads for damage, and replace the caliper(s) as necessary.
