  • Engine#2021215

    616 units affected

Issue: On certain scooters, the primary sheave nut in the clutch could loosen and fall off over time. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. Note: You may notice abnormal engine noises if the primary sheave nut comes loose. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Yamaha will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your scooter to a dealer to replace the primary sheave nut and washer.

  • Engine#2020226

    392 units affected

Issue: On certain scooters, the cylinder head nuts may not have been tightened properly and could loosen. If this happens, the cylinder head gasket can fail. This could prevent the engine from starting, or could cause the engine to stall. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Yamaha will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your scooter to a dealer to replace the head gasket. To reduce the safety risk, Yamaha recommends that you should avoid riding your scooter until the recall repairs have been completed, except to take it to the dealer for this repair.

  • Electrical#2016606

    336 units affected

On certain motorcycles, an incorrect speed sensor cable clamp may allow the clamp to move from its original position when turning/steering. If this happens, the speed sensor cable (lead wire) may bend and break, causing the speedometer to stop displaying vehicle speed. This could result in the vehicle being driven at higher speed than anticipated, which could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the speed sensor cable with a new one of a different design.
