As a result, some safety systems may not work, including the antilock braking system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control and the collision mitigation system. Note: For the VNR model, this recall affects only the VNRe model. Safety Risks: Vehicle safety systems that don't work correctly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to reprogram the ECU software.

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2024-2025 VNL and VNR vehicles. The steering gear sector shaft may have been improperly heat-treated, which can cause the gear teeth to crack or fracture.
Risk: A fractured steering gear shaft can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2020-2024 VNR Electric vehicles. The coolant line in the high voltage battery pack may not be fully seated and locked, which can result in the loss of coolant and an electrical short circuit.
Risk: A battery short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Volvo Trucks will work with the battery manufacturer Akasol to inspect and replace the batteries, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 9, 2023.
