Issue: On certain trucks, a problem with the trailer body control module could cause the trailer lights not to work. Safety Risk: Trailer lights that don't work could make the vehicle less visible and cause following drivers not to recognize that the vehicle is braking or intends to turn or change lanes. These issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the trailer body control module.

Issue: On certain trucks, the oversteer guidance feature may not work properly. As a result, in an oversteer situation, the oversteer guidance could cause the steering wheel to turn from side to side by itself. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to disable the oversteer guidance feature.

Issue: On certain trucks, the turbo idler gear bracket fasteners may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the turbo could fail and cause the engine to stall. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the turbo.

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the backlight for the hazard light switch not to work, or to turn off while driving. As a result, you may not be able to see the switch in low light conditions. Safety Risk: A hazard light switch that is difficult to see could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo Trucks will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the vehicle master control unit software.

Issue: On certain trucks, poor signal strength could cause the electronic control unit (ECU) to stop working or not to work properly. As a result, some safety systems may not work, including the antilock braking system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control and the collision mitigation system. Note: For the VNR model, this recall affects only the VNRe model. Safety Risks: Vehicle safety systems that don't work correctly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to reprogram the ECU software.

Issue: On one truck, the warning light for the antilock brake system (ABS) may not turn on if there's a problem with the trailer's ABS system. Safety Risk: A warning light that doesn't turn on could cause you not to be aware of a problem with the ABS. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: A Volvo Trucks dealer has already repaired the affected truck by updating the electronic braking control unit software.

08- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES#25V332000
Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Volvo VN trucks. The power cables may have been improperly routed, which can cause an electrical short.
Risk: An electrical short can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. An electrical short can also cause the cables to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will re-route the power cables, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 17, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2505.
- ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:DIESEL#25V257000
Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Volvo VN and 2025 New VN trucks. The idler gear bracket fasteners may have been improperly tightened, allowing the idler gear to detach from the engine.
Risk: A detached idler gear can damage the engine, resulting in a stall and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the turbo compound units as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2504.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE#24V790000
Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2020-2025 VN, VAH, VHD and VNRE trucks, equipped with Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU). Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop working.
Risk: Safety systems that depend on the ECU (Automatic Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collison Mitigation System) may have diminished or lost functionality, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 9, 2024. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Truck's number for this recall is RVXX2409.
- WHEELS:LUGS/NUTS/BOLTS/STUDS#24V665000
Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025 VN and VHD trucks. The wheel lug nuts may be improperly tightened.
Risk: Improperly tightened lug nuts can allow the wheel to detach, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will tighten the left-side lug nuts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 19, 2024. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Truck's number for this recall is RVXX2407.

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025 VN and VHD trucks equipped with Composilite EXS20 steerable lift axle suspension assemblies. The tie rod assembly ball stud could have been improperly heat treated and can fail.
Risk: The ball stud can separate from the vehicle becoming a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025 VN trucks. The tie rod assemblies may contain an improperly heat-treated ball stud that can fail, resulting in a sudden loss of steering control.
Risk: A sudden loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will inspect and replace the tie rod ends as necessary, free of charge. Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025 VN, VNRe, and VHD trucks. The drag link may contain an improperly heat-treated ball stud that can fail, resulting in a sudden loss of steering control.
Risk: A sudden loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the repair has been performed. Dealers will inspect and replace the drag links, as necessary, free of charge. - STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM#24V397000
Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2025 VN and VHD trucks. The steering gear may have an improperly seated plug in the valve housing, which can result in a sudden loss of steering control.
Risk: A sudden loss of power steering assist increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the plug and replace the steering gear as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 17, 2024. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks customer service at 1-800-528-6586. Volvo Truck's number for this recall is RVXX2403.
