Issue: On certain brush chipper trailers, the hydraulic tongue jack could extend on its own while the trailer is being towed. Safety Risk: A hydraulic jack that extends while driving could create a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Vermeer will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your brush chipper trailer to an authorized service facility to repair the hydraulic tongue jack by replacing the wiring harness.

U.S. NHTSA recalls
02- EQUIPMENT:MECHANICAL:INTEGRATED JACK/LEVELER/STABILIZER#26V379000
Vermeer Manufacturing Company (Vermeer) is recalling certain 2002-2026 BC1800XL brush chipper trailers. The hydraulic jack may extend unexpectedly.
Risk: An extended jack may contact the ground while driving, causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will repair the hydraulic jack, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 7, 2026. Owners may contact Vermeer customer service at 1-800-829-0051 ext. 7060. Vermeer's number for this recall is IK4837.

Vermeer Manufacturing Company (Vermeer) is recalling certain 2016-2024 BC1800XL brush chipper trailers. The tongue weldment may crack and separate from the tow hitch.
Risk: A hitch separation can cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Vermeer will provide a remedy kit, integrating a new surge brake tongue into the tongue weldment, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 5, 2024. Owners may contact Vermeer customer service at 1-800-829-0051, ext. 7060. Vermeer's number for this recall is IK4524.
