On certain buses equipped with an S-Series wheelchair lift, the platform could potentially crack due to bent knuckle link arms and/or defective bearing. Overtime, the platform could separate of the rear portion of the pivot plate making the lift inoperable and putting the lift operator at risk of injury. Correction: Owners will need to make an appointment with the local Ricon Dealer to have the lift inspected and repaired.
- Structure#2015342
18 units affected
Certain buses may fail to conform to the requirements of CMVSS 217 – Bus Window Retention, Release and Emergency Exits. The window latches may fail to resist the load specified by the standard. Should a person or object be pushed against an egress window during an accident situation, the catches and handles may not hold the egress window in place increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the window catches with a redesigned model to meet the requirement of CMVSS 217.
- Electrical#2015252
5 units affected
On certain vehicles, a power distribution terminal strip may have a poor or loose connection. This could cause the strip to arc or overheat, increasing the risk of fire resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Trans/Air service centers will inspect and affect repairs.
- Other#2014462
8 units affected
On certain buses equipped with a Ricon wheelchair lift, the lift platform sides may crack, which could cause the lift to lean against the vehicle door(s) and potentially fall out of the vehicle when the doors are opened, putting the lift operator at risk of injury. Correction: Ricon Corporation repair facilities will inspect lift platforms for cracks and repair as necessary, and install a repair kit.
- Accessories#2014041
15 units affected
On certain buses, the alternator wiring harness may be pinched between the alternator mount plate and a heater hose clamp. This could damage the wiring insulation and eventually cause a spark/arcing, increasing the risk of a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, reposition the heater hose clamp.
- Other#2012289
7 units affected
On certain buses equipped with a Braun wheelchair lift, over time and with frequent use, the roll stop latches on the outer barrier may become bent or misaligned. As a result, a wheelchair occupant may defeat or ride over the insufficiently latched roll stop. If this occurs when the lift platform is in an elevated position, the user could fall and sustain injury. Correction: Authorized Braun service facilities will replace the outer barrier latch, bracket and clevis pin.
- Accessories#2012036
5 units affected
On certain buses equipped with a Carrier GenV EM-1 evaporator unit, the blower motor fuse assembly may allow the fuse to loosen over time, which could result in high resistance and arcing. If sufficient arcing occurs the fuse holder may melt, which could cause smoke and/or fire. A vehicle fire could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Carrier will provide a retrofit kit along with installation instructions.

U.S. NHTSA recalls
03- EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY#16V009000
Turtle Top is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 Odyssey, 2008-2009 and 2011 Odyssey LT, 2007-2008 and 2010-2012 Odyssey XL, 2008 and 2012 Terra Transport and 2007-2008 and 2013 Van Terra vehicles equipped with certain model S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 wheelchair lifts manufactured by Ricon. The affected lifts are equipped with folding link arms that may have pivot holes that are too big, allowing the bearings to move out of position.
Risk: If the bearings move out of position, the stowed platform may have excessive movement resulting in failure of the platform mounting. This failure could cause the wheel chair lift platform to fall out of the vehicle when the doors are opened, increasing the risk of injury for the lift operator.
Remedy: Turtle Top will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the link arms for damage or for displaced bearings. The platform will be inspected for cracks. Any damaged parts will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on March 21, 2016. Owners may contact Turtle Top customer service at 1-574-831-4340, or Ricon customer service at 1-800-322-2884.
- EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY#14V651000
Turtle Top is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 Odyssey, 2008-2009, 2011 Odyssey LT, and 2007-2008, 2010-2012 Odyssey XL, 2008, 2012 Terra Transport, and 2007-2008, 2013 Van Terra transit buses equipped with certain model S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 wheelchair lifts manufactured by Ricon Corporation. The platform side plate of the affected wheelchair lifts may crack.
Risk: If the platform side plates crack, the lift platform can separate from the lift and come to rest against the vehicle's lift door. When the doors are opened, the platform may fall out, increasing the risk of injury to the lift operator.
Remedy: Turtle Top will notify owners to take buses to a Ricon dealer or service center who will install supplemental platform support bumpers. Any platform that has already started cracking will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began November 18, 2014. Owners may contact Turtle Top customer service at 1-574-831-4340 or Ricon customer service at 1-800-322-2884.
