Transport Canada recalls

02
  • Structure#2022688

    14 units affected

Issue: Certain tank trailers were built without a rear impact guard. Canadian Regulations require trailers to have a rear impact guard. Safety Risk: In a rear-impact crash, a vehicle could underride a trailer that doesn't have a rear impact guard. This could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Tremcar will notify owners by mail and coordinate the installation of a rear impact guard on each trailer.

  • Suspension#2021250

    48 units affected

Issue: On certain trailers equipped with a Dexter Smart-Steer 2.0 self-steering axle, the bolts that attach the steer arm to the knuckle could break. If this happens, the steer arm or the bolts could detach from the trailer. Safety Risk: Parts that detach from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Tremcar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a Dexter Canada authorized service facility to weld the steer arms to the knuckles.
