03- Seats And Restraints#2021760
31 units affected
Issue: On certain school buses, the protective barrier behind the driver's seat wasn't installed properly. As a result, a person seated behind the barrier may not be properly restrained in a crash. Safety Risk: A seat barrier that isn't strong enough could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Trans Tech Bus will notify bus owners by mail and provide you with a retrofit kit to provide extra support for the protective barrier. Trans Tech Bus advises that you should not use the first passenger seat behind the driver until the recall repairs are completed.
- Structure#2021759
69 units affected
Issue: On certain school buses, the left-side emergency exit window (located next to the third-row seat) may be difficult to open after a crash. Safety Risk: An emergency exit that does not open easily could increase the risk of injury in an emergency situation. Corrective Actions: Trans Tech Bus will contact owners by mail and advise you to take your bus to a dealership to install two rivets on the exterior trim of the emergency window.
- Label#2021758
69 units affected
Issue: On certain school buses, the labels for the side emergency exit windows and the rear emergency door may contain errors in French. Canadian regulations require emergency exits to have bilingual labels. Safety Risk: An emergency exit that isn't clearly labeled may create confusion. This could increase the risk of injury in an emergency situation. Corrective Actions: Trans Tech Bus will mail new emergency exit labels to each bus owner.
