Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the combination meter in the instrument cluster not to display when the vehicle is started. As a result, the turn signals and hazard lights may not work. Additionally, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including warning lights, malfunction tell-tales and seat belt reminders. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 7-inch display. Safety Risk: Turn signals that don't work may cause a person not to recognize when the driver intends to turn or change lanes and could increase the risk of a crash. Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could also increase the risk of a crash. A seat belt warning that doesn't work may not remind you to buckle your seat belt. Not wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the combination meter software.

Issue: On certain vehicles, a bolt in the inverter assembly for the hybrid system may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the vehicle could enter a reduced power mode or lose power to the wheels. Additionally, if the bolt becomes loose in the inverter assembly and the ignition is on, it could cause a short circuit. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the hybrid inverter assembly bolt. The dealer will tighten the bolt or, if necessary, replace the inverter assembly.

Issue: Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image to freeze or not to display. If this happens, the rearview image may not display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a panoramic view monitor system. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the parking assist ECU software.
