  On certain motorhomes, the frame rail extensions may not adequately support the trailer hitch mounting flange. Under certain loading or heavy braking conditions, the trailer hitch could detach, which would result in the separation of a towed vehicle or trailer, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, add a steel insert to increase the strength of the frame rail and strengthen the attachment of the hitch. Note: This recall supersedes recall 2017-166. Vehicles repaired under the previous recall will require re-inspection and possible additional repair.

  On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly.   On certain motorhomes, the frame rail extensions may not adequately support the trailer hitch mounting flange. Correction: Dealers will install frame rail extension liner brackets and add gussets to the lower extension flanges to add structural support to the hitch.

  On certain motorhomes equipped with Lippert Components Inc. electric entry steps, an internal bolt on the steps that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps could fracture. This results in the fan gear disengaging from the steps, which could cause the steps to stop in an unexpected position and appear to be loose or unstable. If the steps become unstable, it could cause a person to fall, resulting in injury. Correction: Dealers will install a step retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, and all bolts of the mechanism will also be replaced.

Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace left front steering knuckles with date code 24D3.

  On certain vehicles, the compliance label does not contain the correct Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) for the front axle. The label incorrectly indicates a GVWR of 17,000 lbs on 45 foot buses and 16,600 lbs on on 37 and 40 foot buses. The correct GAWR would be 16,000 lbs and 15,000 lbs, respectively. Incorrect GAWR could cause the vehicle to be overloaded, which would result in poor vehicles handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation.

  On certain vehicles, the driver and passenger seat belt attachment points may have been incorrectly installed. This could cause damage to the seat belt webbing over time, which could result in seat belt failure in a crash, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will inspect seat belts and correct those that are incorrectly installed. Seat belts showing signs of damage will be replaced.

  Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2009-2018 Allegro and Allegro RED, Bus and Phaeton vehicles, 2009-2010 Bay vehicles, 2011-2018 Breeze vehicles, and 2009-2015, and 2017-2018 Zephyr vehicles. These motorhomes are equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.   Risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

  Remedy: Tiffin will notify owners, and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on February 5, 2018. • STEERING:GEAR BOX:MOUNTING BRACKET#16V397000June 2, 2016

  Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Allegro Phaeton and 2015-2016 Allegro Bus trucks manufactured October 1, 2014 to August 1, 2015, equipped with certain ZF RL77 / 80EM independent front steering axles equipped with Bosch 8018 steering boxes. The boxes were manufactured using incorrect internal spacers that can cause premature wear in the connection between the steering wheel and the front axle.

  Risk: The steering wheel's connection to the front axle could fail resulting in a sudden loss of steering ability, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: Tiffin will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the steering box if necessary, free of charge. Owners are urged not to drive their vehicles until they have been inspected. The recall began on August 17, 2016. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661.

  Tiffin Motorhomes (Tiffin) is recalling certain model year 2007-2015 motorhomes manufactured May 1, 2007, to December 31, 2014, equipped with certain Coachstep Double and Triple Electric Steps. The bolt that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may become unstable.

  Risk: Unstable entry and exit steps increase the risk of injury.

  Remedy: Dealers will install a retainer bracket on the double step assemblies and the Coachstep Linkage Assembly will be replaced and a retainer bracket will be installed on the trip step assemblies. • SEAT BELTS#14E015000April 10, 2014

  Villa International (Villa) is recalling certain Villa ISS driver and passenger GSK seats. These seats were used in certain model year 2014 Tiffin Allegro Bus and Zephyr recreational vehicles, 2015 American Coach brand American Eagle, American Tradition, and American Revolution recreational vehicles, and 2014 Jayco Entegra Cornerstone recreational vehicles. The seat belt attachment may be incorrect and the seat belt may fray if it rubs along a steel bracket in the seat, reducing its strength. As such, these seats do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

  Risk: The weakened seat belt may fail to properly restrain the seat occupant in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

  Remedy: Villa will notify the affected vehicle manufacturers and the manufacturer's dealers will contact the vehicle owners. Owners may contact Villa at 1-888-707-7272.

• EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER#13V638000December 19, 2013

  Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Allegro 33AA motorhomes equipped with an electric fireplace. In the affected vehicles, the fireplace may ignite a piece of exposed wood inside the electric fireplace.

  Risk: If the exposed piece of wood ignites, the rest of the motorhome could also catch fire.

  Remedy: Tiffin will notify owners, and dealers will install a heat shield to keep heat from the exposed wood, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Tiffin at 1-256-356-8661.
