Issue: On certain motorhomes, there may be a loose connection between the battery cables and the Battery Isolation Manager (BIM) or the Battery Isolation Relay (BIR). A lose connection could cause a premature failure of the BIM/BIR and/or cause electrical arcing (sparks). Safety Risk: Electrical arcing could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Thor Motor Coach will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to install lock washers to secure the battery cable to the BIM/BIR. The BIM/BIR will be replaced as necessary.

On certain motorhomes, the rear axle U-bolts may not have been properly tightened during installation. These bolts could loosen or break, potentially resulting in a separation of the rear axle from the vehicle. This could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and tighten the U-bolts as necessary.

On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain motorhomes, the electrical motor for the awning could become damaged, allowing the awning to unfurl unexpectedly. As a result, the awning could strike another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the awning motor.

On certain motorhomes, wiring for the catalytic converter's oxygen sensor may not be properly secured. As such, the wiring may contact the exhaust and melt/short, which could result in Check Engine Light illumination and, in some instances, the engine to shut down while driving. Engine stalling would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will secure the oxygen sensor wiring by installing an additional fastener to the existing clamp.
