Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) recommends you confirm the wheelchair is secured properly by attempting to move it before driving until the recall repairs have been completed. DTNA will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and, if necessary, replace the wheelchair retractor(s).

Issue: On a small number of school buses, the brake caliper mounting bolts may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the bolts could loosen and detach, causing reduced braking. UPDATE - After the company notified Transport Canada about this problem, they determined that there are no Canadian school buses affected by it. Accordingly, this safety recall was withdrawn. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

Issue: On certain school buses, the castle nut securing the tie rod may not have been tightened properly and/or the cotter pin may be missing. As a result, the nut could loosen and separate. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could increase the risk of a crash.
