As a result, the buses may not meet the joint strength requirements of Canadian regulations. Note: This recall affects both Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses and Saf-T-Liner C2 Jouley (electric) school bus models. • Engine#2022326

    6 units affected

Issue: On certain school buses, a problem in the engine control module (ECM) could cause the engine to shut down while driving. Note: This recall only affects buses equipped with a PSI 8.8 L propane (LPG) engine. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a bus that is disabled could create the need for a transfer of passengers in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will contact owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

  • Engine#2021738

Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the accelerator pedal and replace it, if necessary.

  • Steering#2021325

    3 units affected

Issue: On certain school buses, the tie rod clamp may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the tie rod end could loosen and separate. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your school bus to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the tie rod clamp nuts and bolts.

  • Brakes#2020637

    55 units affected

On certain school buses, the bolts that attach the brake caliper support (also called a tie bar) on the front axle may not be tightened correctly. As a result, the tie bar could loosen or detach and cause damage to other moving parts. It is also possible that the tie bar was not installed. A missing or loose tie bar could affect braking performance. Note: This recall only affects buses equipped with hydraulic brakes. Safety Risk: Reduced brake performance can increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect both steer axle wheel ends. The mounting bolts for the brake caliper tie bar will be tightened. If the tie bar is missing, the caliper anchor mounts and brake function will be inspected, and the missing tie bar installed.
