Issue: On certain digger derricks, the pole guide plate may not have been welded properly. As a result, the weld could crack, and the retaining pin could separate. If this happens, the pole guide arm could fall. Safety Risk: A pole guide arm that falls could create a risk of injury to people nearby. Corrective Actions: Terex will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect and replace the pole guide plate, as necessary. Terex advises you to perform a daily inspection of the pole guide plate welds, and not to use the digger derrick if a weld is cracked.
