On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain fifth wheel trailers the rear stabilizing jacks may extend while driving due to exposed wiring. If the exposed wiring is subject to road spray, it may activate the remote control panel and extend the jacks. This situation could result in a loss of control leading to a vehicle crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will install a relay to prevent the activation autonomously in the presence of moisture.

Starcraft RV (Starcraft) is recalling certain 2009-2010 StarCraft, Centennial, Homestead, Travel Star, Travel Star EXP, Travel Star Sport, Autumn Ridge and Autumn Ridge SE recreational trailers, 2010 Rock Star, Lexion, Emblem and Homestead recreational trailers, 2013-2016 Comet recreational trailers, 2013-2015 AR-One and Launch recreational trailers, 2014-2016 Starflyer recreational trailers and 2016 Comet Hard Side recreational trailers. These trailers are equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Starcraft will notify owners, and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. STARCRAFT IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 LEXION AND EMBLEM FIFTH WHEEL TRAVEL TRAILERS. IN THE PRESENCE OF MOISTURE, A REMOTE ACTIVATION MODULE FOR THE LEVELING JACK MAY ACTIVATE AUTONOMOUSLY WITHOUT THE USE OF THE REMOTE CONTROL.
Risk: IF THE JACK WERE TO ACTIVATE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING TOWED, IT COULD RESULT IN A CRASH LEADING TO PROPERTY DAMAGE, INJURY, OR DEATH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A RELAY WHICH WILL PREVENT THE REMOTE MODULE FROM SELF-ACTIVATING IN THE PRESENCE OF MOISTURE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING FEBRUARY 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT STARCRAFT AT 1-800-945-4787.
