On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain camping trailers, the Compliance and Tire information labels do not contain correct tire information. The labels incorrectly indicate tire load range “C” instead of “D”. As a result, the vehicle may inadvertently be fitted with incorrect replacement tires. Overloaded tires may lead to poor vehicle handling characteristics, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation.

On certain camping trailer, the spare tire carrier bracket may not have been correctly installed during vehicle assembly. This could allow the spare tire and carrier to separate from the vehicle. Should this occur while the vehicle is underway, the spare tire assembly could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander, causing property damage and/personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install a backer plate to reinforcement the spare tire carrier mount.

Starcraft RV (Starcraft) is recalling certain 2009-2010 StarCraft, Centennial, Homestead, Travel Star, Travel Star EXP, Travel Star Sport, Autumn Ridge and Autumn Ridge SE recreational trailers, 2010 Rock Star, Lexion, Emblem and Homestead recreational trailers, 2013-2016 Comet recreational trailers, 2013-2015 AR-One and Launch recreational trailers, 2014-2016 Starflyer recreational trailers and 2016 Comet Hard Side recreational trailers. These trailers are equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Starcraft RV (Starcraft) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 AR-ONE TT trailers and 2014-2016 Comet CT Hard Sided camping trailers, models 28V, 28P, 28R, 28S, 28V, 28W, BC, and BH, manufactured June 3, 2013, to February 6, 2015 and equipped with the Extreme Package Option. The affected trailers have Certification labels that incorrectly state a tire size of ST205/75R 14C when the actual tire size is LT235/75R 15C. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
Risk: If the operator installs the incorrect tires due to the information on the certification label, vehicle handling could be affected, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Starcraft will notify owners, and dealers will install a corrected label, free of charge. The recall began on July 17, 2015. Owners may contact Starcraft customer service at 1-800-945-4787. Starcraft's number for this recall is 9902240.

Starcraft RV, Inc. (Starcraft) is recalling certain model year 2014 Comet BK, BW, BX, and BY recreational vehicles manufactured August 22, 2013, through December 10, 2013. On the affected vehicles, the certification label incorrectly identifies the load range of the tires. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 120, "Tire Selection and Rims for Motor Vehicles Other Than Passenger Cars."
Risk: An inaccurate label may result in the installation of replacement tires with an insufficient load range which may lead to sudden tire failure and an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy: All affected trailers are quarantined in dealer inventory. Starcraft will send corrected labels to those dealers. The recall began on January 20, 2014. Owners may contact Starcraft Customer Service at 1-800-945-4787.
TIRES:TEMPORARY/EMERGENCY SPARE TIRE#13V381000August 21, 2013
Starcraft RV Inc. (Starcarft) is recalling certain model year 2014 Comet Camping Trailers manufactured September 18, 2012, through May 6, 2013. The spare tire bracket mounted on the rear wall is not secured sufficiently and could detach.
Risk: If the spare tire bracket detaches from the vehicle while it is being driven, it could become a road hazard increasing the risk of a vehicle crash or injury.
Remedy: Starcraft will notify owners and dealers will add a metal strap to secure the spare tire bracket, free of charge. The recall began on September 26, 2013. Owners may contact Starcraft at 1-800-945-4787.
