Issue: On certain fire trucks, the fuel tubes between the fuel rail and the injectors may crack and create a fuel leak. Note: This recall only affects fire trucks equipped with a Cummins X12 diesel engine. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your fire truck to a Cummins authorized service center to replace the fuel tubes for cylinders 4, 5 and 6 and install vibration isolators.

If damage is found, the fuel rail and fuel lines will be replaced. If no damage is found, the fuel rail will be reassembled with new crush washers using a special tool.

As a result, the operator may not be able to control or access certain vehicle functions. Depending on the vehicle configuration, this can affect the emergency warning lights, patient care devices and/or cause the rearview camera image not to display. Safety Risk: Emergency personnel that do not have immediate access to vehicle controls could create a delay in emergency response. Additionally, a rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Spartan Fire will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact a dealer to make arrangements to repair or replace the Vista display screen(s), as necessary.
