Issue: On a small number of fire trucks, certain hydraulic hoses may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the hoses could fail and leak oil. Additionally, this could cause hydraulic systems such as the aerial platform, ladder and outriggers not to work properly. Safety Risk: Oil that leaks can create the risk of a fire. Hydraulic systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Smeal will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your fire truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the hydraulic hose(s).
