    3 units affected

Issue: On a small number of fire trucks, certain hydraulic hoses may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the hoses could fail and leak oil. Additionally, this could cause hydraulic systems such as the aerial platform, ladder and outriggers not to work properly. Safety Risk: Oil that leaks can create the risk of a fire. Hydraulic systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Smeal will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your fire truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the hydraulic hose(s).

U.S. NHTSA recalls

01
  • EQUIPMENT:MECHANICAL:BOOM/CRANE/LADDER:MOTOR/HYDRAULIC PUMP#25V742000

Smeal Holding, LLC (Smeal) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rear Mount Platform, Mid Mount Platform Aerial, and 2024, 2026 125' Aerial emergency response vehicles. A defective crimp may cause the high-pressure hydraulic hose to separate and leak hydraulic fluid.

Risk: A fluid leak may cause a loss of hydraulic functions, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a hydraulic fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the high-pressure hydraulic hose assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 17, 2025. Owners may contact Smeal's customer service at 1-800-867-6478. Smeal's number for this recall is 25011.
