418 units affected
On certain vehicles, a plastic insulator (called a wheel guard made by FleetSpec) was installed between the wheel hub and the wheel or the brake drum and the wheel to prevent corrosion between the two components. These wheel guards may melt due to the high heat generated by the brakes. If this occurs, a wheel could become loose and fall off the vehicle, creating a potential road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: owners will have to replace or remove the FleetSpec wheel guards.
