Issue: Certain fifth wheel RV trailers may have been built with a pin box rated for 7030 kg (15,500 lb.), when it should have one that is rated for 8165 kg (18,000 lb.). As a result, the pin box could be overloaded and fail. Safety Risk: A pin box that fails could cause a trailer to detach from the tow vehicle and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and advise you to send them a picture of the pin box on your trailer. Forest River will review the photograph and advise you if the pin box requires replacement. You will be given the option of using a mobile repair service or taking the trailer to a dealership to replace it.

Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the fabric for the patio awning may not be properly attached. As a result, the awning could detach and fall from the vehicle. Safety Risk: An awning that falls from the vehicle could create a risk of injury. An awning that falls from a moving vehicle could create road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the fabric roll on the awning. It will be repaired or replaced, as necessary.

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the step treads leading to the upper deck of the trailer may not be properly attached to the step brackets. As a result, step tread(s) could detach from the step bracket. Safety Risk: Steps that detach could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealership to install additional bolts to secure the step treads.

Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the quick disconnect fittings for the propane (LP) gas system may be defective. As a result, the fittings could crack and leak propane. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your RV trailer or motorhome to a dealership to replace the quick disconnect fittings on the propane system and perform a leak test.

Issue: Certain RV trailers were built with tires that may have a defect. As a result, the tire tread and belts could separate. If this happens, the tire could fail and suddenly lose air pressure. Note: This recall only affects trailers equipped with certain ST235/80R16 G tires. The tires are marked with plant code 1YJ, and within the date code range of 2020 - 4120. If you have tires with a different date code, please also see Transport Canada recall 2021-729. Safety Risk: A tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to inspect the tires. If the tires are within the date code range, they will be replaced.

On certain fifth wheels, travel trailers and motorhomes, the electrical motor for the awning could become damaged, allowing the awning to unfurl unexpectedly. As a result, the awning could strike another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the awning motor.
