  • Engine#2022191

    1,219 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, if the front bearing on the alternator fails, the alternator belts could continue to turn the alternator. This could cause the alternator bearing to overheat. Safety Risk: An overheated alternator bearing could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Prevost will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Prevost service center to replace the alternator belts. To reduce the safety risk, Prevost recommends that you should inspect the front bearing on the alternator regularly, and not operate the engine with a defective alternator.

  • Accessories#2019084

    154 units affected

Issue: On vehicles equipped with a fire suppression system that includes a Kidde KDS-25 fire extinguisher, there may be a problem with the electric actuator on the fire extinguisher. This could cause the fire extinguisher not to discharge when it is activated. Safety Risk: In a fire, an extinguisher that does not work could increase the risk of injury and/or property damage. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed contact Prevost, who will inspect extinguishers and repair as necessary.

  • Accessories#2017570

    612 units affected

On certain buses equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. • Fuel System#2017476

    1,114 units affected

On certain vehicles, the fuel tank cradle bolts could loosen and fail.  If this occurs, the fuel cradle and fuel tank could drop to the ground, which could disable the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.  This could also potentially result in a fuel leak.  Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury.  Correction:  Dealers will repair and shim the attachment points, and the hardware will be replaced.

  • Accessories#2017238

    11 units affected

On certain vehicles equipped with 10,000 lbs trailer hitch receivers, the hitch may have been installed with locknuts containing a nylon insert. These are unsuitable for this application and may loosen over time. If the locknuts were to become loose, the trailer hitch may deform or detach from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Correction: Vehicles will be inspected and nylon-style locknuts will be replaced with all-metal (Stover) style locknuts.

  • Fuel System#2016108

    551 units affected

On certain vehicles, due to a missing clip a coolant line could rub against a braided fuel hose at the AHI 7th injector. Over time, this could cause the fuel hose to become compromised, which could result in fuel spraying onto hot exhaust components increasing the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealer will inspect the fuel line for abrasion and replace it if necessary. The coolant line will be removed.

  • Accessories#2015087

    66 units affected

On certain buses, the handheld Kidde plastic valve disposable fire extinguisher may not function as designed. In certain instances, the extinguisher may fail to fully discharge when the lever is pressed multiple times. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will provide a replacement extinguisher.
