Issue: On certain trucks, the power distribution center (PDC) box may be contaminated by oil and could fail. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. This problem could also cause the antilock brake system, exterior lighting, windshield wipers and/or defrost system not to work. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels and an antilock braking system that don't work could increase the risk of a crash. Exterior lights, windshield wipers and/or a defrost system that don't work could reduce visibility and also increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the PDC box.

Lift axles that move unexpectedly could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the vehicle software.

As a result, some safety systems may not work, including the antilock braking system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control and the collision mitigation system. Safety Risks: Vehicle safety systems that don't work correctly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to reprogram the ECU software.

Issue: On certain trucks equipped with a Cummins X15 engine, the fuel pump may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the fuel pump barrels could break and cause a fuel leak. If this happens, the engine could stall. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Cummins will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a Cummins authorized service facility to replace the fuel pump barrels.

Issue: On certain trucks, the ball stud on the drag link and/or tie rod may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the stud could fail and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR advises not to drive the truck until the recall repairs are completed. PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealership to arrange for an inspection. The dealer will replace the drag link and/or tie rod, as necessary.
