  Issue: On certain vehicles, the rear outboard seat belts may contain defective automatic locking retractors (ALR). As a result, the seat belts may not properly lock to secure a child seat. Note: The vehicle's lower universal anchorage system (UAS) is not affected by this defect and may still be used to secure a child seat. Safety Risk: A seat belt that is used to secure a child restraint but is not properly locked could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Nissan recommends using the vehicle's UAS system when securing a child seat. Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear outboard seat belt(s).

  Issue: On certain vehicles, a problem inside the high-voltage battery could cause a short circuit. If this happens, the high-voltage battery could overheat. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Nissan advises that you should not charge your vehicle and to park the vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership, or to contact a dealer to arrange to have the vehicle towed to the dealership, to replace the high-voltage battery module(s) or the battery, as necessary.

Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Nissan recommends not to use the level 3 quick charging until the recall repairs have been completed. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and secure the rearview camera wiring harness. The dealer will replace the rearview camera and wiring harness, if necessary.

Corrective Actions: The company will mail owners a letter explaining this problem. The letter will describe how the brake warnings work. Drivers should not drive the car if the warnings stay on. Nissan will provide a 4 year/80,000 km warranty extension to repair the problem with relay freezing.

Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger's frontal airbag inflator.

Correction: For affected Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue and Sentra vehicles, dealers will reprogram the airbag control unit and the occupant classification system control unit. For affected Leaf, NV200, Pathfinder, Q50 and JX35/QX60 vehicles, dealers will replace the occupant classification system electronic control unit.

Correction: An Electric Vehicle certified dealer will reprogram the electrically-driven Intelligent Brake Control Unit software. Note: If this condition were present, a brake warning lamp would illuminate when the vehicle is first started to alert the operator of the issue.

If this occurs, the passenger airbag would be deactivated without the illumination of the airbag warning lamp. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the occupant classification system.
