Issue: On certain motorhomes, a problem with the steering gear could cause pressure to build within the system. If this happens, there could be a loss of power steering assist. Safety Risk: A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort and create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Newmar will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorhome to an authorized Shyft Group repair facility to replace the steering gear.

Issue: On certain motorhomes, a software problem in the vehicle control module (ICM) could cause a sudden loss of power. If this happens, the engine, head lamps and/or windshield wipers could suddenly shut off. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loss of headlights and/or windshield wipers could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorhome to a Shyft Group service center to reprogram the vehicle control module (ICM) software.
