On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. Note: For more information about recalled fire extinguishers, please visit www.kidde.com.
- Brakes#2012312
71 units affected
On certain motorhomes equipped with a Spartan chassis, the air brake chambers may contact the front suspension upper control arms while the vehicle is underway. Continued contact may result in damage sufficient enough to inhibit the full release of the brakes. If one of the front brakes does not fully release, heat could be generated, which could cause the brakes to bind, and the vehicle to pull to one side. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Spartan authorized repair facilities will add spacers to the front air spring suspension.

646 units affected
Certain refrigerators used in Recreational Vehicles (RVs) contain either a sensing algorithm or a thermal switch to interrupt power when it detects high temperatures that could lead to a fire. An insufficient response time can result in the power not being shut-off in sufficient time to prevent a fire, which could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install a thermocouple with a faster response time for all refrigerators with a sensing algorithm or a thermal switch.
- Steering#2011028
40 units affected
On certain motorhomes built on a Spartan chassis, the weld around the steering shaft tube, which joins the splined tube to the non-splined intermediate tube, may be mislocated. An improperly located weld bead may allow the splined tube and non-splined tube to rotate relative one another during a low speed, high torque turn, resulting in a possible separation of the tubes. This could cause a loss of steering control which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering shaft.
- Electrical#2010168
31 units affected
Certain motorhomes may contain a defective crimp connection in the auxiliary battery cable assembly. A defective connection may result in an inadequate electrical connection or disengagement of the cable, which could lead to electrical arcing, overheating, and generate sufficient heat for ignition of surrounding materials. Ignition of surrounding materials could result in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the auxiliary battery cable assemblies.
