Issue: On certain school buses, the anchor screw caps for the wheelchair restraint system may not have been installed properly. As a result, the tie-downs may not lock correctly and could detach in a crash. Note: This recall only affects certain school buses equipped with a Q'Straint Slide N' Click wheelchair restraint system. Safety Risk: Tie-downs that detach in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect and, if necessary, secure the anchor screw caps for the wheelchair restraint system. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the repairs performed at a Micro Bird dealership.

Issue: On certain school buses, the exterior handle for the rear emergency door may not be strong enough. As a result, the handle could break and cause the emergency door not to be able to be opened from the outside. Safety Risk: A door that can't be opened could slow your exit from the bus in an emergency. This could also delay emergency responders from entering the bus. Both issues could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to replace the rear emergency door exterior handle.

Safety risk: A circuit board that overheats could create the risk of a fire. Note: This recall only affects school buses built on a General Motors chassis. Safety Risk: A short circuit could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect the wiring and correct this problem.

Issue: On certain school buses, the service door may not be adjusted correctly. As a result, the door panels may get stuck when the emergency release handle is used, or may not open when force is applied to the door. Additionally, the exterior emergency release handle may not allow the service door to be opened from outside of the bus. Safety Risk: A door that cannot be opened could delay exiting the bus in an emergency. This could also delay emergency response. Both of these issues could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a dealer to adjust the service door. Alternatively, Micro Bird will provide owners instructions on how to correctly adjust the service door.

Also, metal shavings could have fallen into an electrical connector. Damaged wires or connectors could cause lights and accessories not to work properly, or could create a short circuit. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect the wiring and connectors, and repair any damage that is found.

In the event of a crash, the belt anchorage plate may become partially or totally detached, reducing the capacity of the shoulder belt to retain the passenger, resulting in an increased risk of injury or fatality. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, re-install the shoulder belt anchorage plate using the correct procedure.

The thickness of the foam in the knee impact area of the lower seatback is insufficient, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Correction: Dealers will modify the seat to meet the requirements of the standard.

The downward vertical movement of the roof structure of the vehicle may be higher than the requirements of the standard, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a rollover. Correction: Dealers will add a reinforcement plate to the front structure to meet the requirements of the standard.

The STOP decal may not adhere properly to the stop sign and could peel off without warning, which could cause it to fail to meet the requirements of the standard. This could increase the risk of injury for the passengers exiting the school bus. Correction: Dealers will replace the defective stop sign.

U.S. NHTSA recalls
05- EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY:WHEELCHAIR RESTRAINTS/SECUREMENT:LATCH/ANCHOR:#26V149000
Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2003-2026 MB II, 2006-2026 G5, and 2015-2026 T-Series school buses. An installation error may prevent the wheelchair tie-downs from locking, leaving the wheelchair improperly secured.
Risk: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit or a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and secure the anchor screw cap as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2026. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 26-120-AUS.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING#22V287000
Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2006-2021 MBII and G5 transit buses. An inactive electrical harness that is secured in an opening in the B-pillar may become damaged from sharp edges inside the opening.
Risk: A damaged electrical harness may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will secure the electrical harness and remove the fuse linked to the main cable, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 20, 2022. Owners may contact Micro Bird's customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 22-092-HUS.

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2014-2021 Micro Bird G5 vehicles with electrical wiring, routed behind the driver's seat, that may have been damaged during rivet installation.
Risk: If the electric cabling is damaged, certain safety accessories or lamps may stop working, or a short-circuit may occur, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Micro Bird will notify owners and dealers will provide field modification instructions, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 24, 2021. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 21-086-WUS.

Corp. Micro Bird Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2004-2021 T-Series, G5, and MBII school buses. The emergency door retaining device may fail to keep the door in an open position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."
Risk: If the emergency door won't stay open during an evacuation it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Micro Bird will notify owners, and dealers will install a kit to repair the emergency door retaining device, free of charge. The recall April 24, 2020. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 20-084-RUS.
