  Issue: On certain vehicles, moisture could enter the driver-side door lock microswitch and cause it to corrode. As a result, the microswitch may fail to automatically engage the parking brake and/or the auto park feature when the door is opened. If this happens, the vehicle could roll away. Note: This problem could also cause the radio and/or interior lights to remain on after exiting the vehicle. Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you should always use the parking brake when you park. Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver-side door lock.

As a result, the head restraints may not latch properly, and could move or detach from the seat in a crash. Safety Risk: Head restraints that move or detach in a crash could increase the risk of an injury. Corrective Action: Mercedes-Benz will contact owners by mail and instruct you to take your car to a dealer to inspect and replace the rear seat head restraints, as required. To reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you should remove the rear seat head restraints and not use the rear seats until the recall repairs are completed.

If this happens, the wrong vehicle location may be transmitted through the eCall system. This could cause emergency responders to be sent to the wrong location. Safety Risk: If the eCall system sends out the wrong location after a crash, there could be a delay in response from emergency services. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.
