Issue: This recalls affects certain flatbed trailers equipped with twistlocks (container securing locks) made by Buffers USA (model 3600-HA). The twistlocks do not have a secondary locking mechanism that prevent them to unlock while in use. This could allow a container to become unstable, slip, tip or detach from the trailer. Safety Risk: A container that is unstable or that detaches from a trailer could create a risk of injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Manac will notify owners by mail and provide them with a repair kit that includes a secondary lock mechanism. If the owner requires assistance to install the new parts, Manac will help to identify a local repair facility that can perform the work. The letter will also provide owners with instructions for how to inspect the twistlocks for damage or wear.
