Issue: On a small number of LR Electric models, a relay for the coolant heater could fail. If this happens, the heater could stay energized when there is no coolant flow or a low coolant level. Safety Risk: A coolant heater that stays energized could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Mack will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to update the hybrid powertrain control unit and instrument cluster software. The dealer will also install replacement relays.

Issue: On certain trucks, the steering gear may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the steering gear could break and cause a loss of steering. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mack will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the serial number on the steering gear, and replace it, if necessary.

U.S. NHTSA recalls
01- STEERING#22V401000
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2021-22 Granite, Anthem, LR, Pinnacle, and Terrapro tractor trailers. The steering gears may have been assembled incorrectly, which can cause the gear to fracture.
Risk: A fractured steering gear can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the steering gear, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 29, 2022. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0437.
