Issue: The compliance labels on certain trailers may contain missing information or may be hard to read. This could lead you to unknowingly overload the trailer, inflate the tires incorrectly or install the wrong wheels and tires. Any of these errors could lead to poor handling or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Lorne's Welding will mail a corrected compliance label to each trailer owner.

Issue: On certain trailers, there is an error in the vehicle identification number (VIN). The 14th digit of the VIN was incorrectly listed as "4", instead of "3". As a result, the trailer manufacturer cannot be properly identified using the VIN. Canadian regulations provide a format the VIN number that must be followed. Safety Risk: This error could cause confusion when trying to identify the trailer using the VIN. Corrective Actions: Lorne's Welding will provide each owner with a letter to explain this error. You should keep this letter with your trailer to provide proof of this error, and help answer any questions about it.
