Issue: On certain school buses, the control panel for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the wiring could overheat. Safety Risk: Wiring that overheats could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, LION advises you to follow the latest version of the inspection procedure available on their website and not to use your school bus if there's any issues with the HVAC system. LION will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to correct the wiring for the HVAC system. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the repairs done at an authorized LION service center.

Issue: Certain school bus seats may not have the lower universal anchorage system required for installing a child seat. Safety Risk: A child seat that is not properly installed could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be sent the missing anchorage parts and instructions for their installation.

U.S. NHTSA recalls

Lion Electric Company (Lion) is recalling certain 2012-2020 Lion C and Lion 360 hybrid electric school buses. The driver's seat belt anchor may have been attached with incorrect hardware, possibly causing the seat belt to not be anchored properly.
Risk: In the event of a crash, a seat belt that is not be properly anchored can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Lion will notify owners and will replace the seatbelt hardware, free of charge . The recall began July 20, 2020. Owners may contact Lion customer service at 1-855-546-6706.
- STEERING#20V123000
Lion Electric Company (Lion) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Lion C and Lion 360 electric and diesel school buses. The bolts connecting the pitman arm and I-shaft to the power steering box may loosen, resulting in a complete loss of steering control.
Risk: A complete loss of steering can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Lion has notified owners and will replace the pitman and I-shaft bolts. The recall began March 12, 2020. Owners may contact Lion customer service at 1-855-546-6706.
