  Issue: On certain vehicles, the software update installed by a Ford dealer during recall 25SA2 (Transport Canada recall no. 2025-547) may not be effective. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the pedestrian alert system not to work properly. Note: This recall only affects hybrid electric vehicles. This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-547. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: A pedestrian alert system that doesn't work properly could create confusion and increase the risk of injury for other road users. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the accessory protocol image module (APIM) software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership. For certain Nautilus vehicles, owners will be advised to take their vehicle to a dealership to replace the digital signal processor (DSP) module.

Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Driver assistance systems that don't work could also increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the image processing module (IPMA) software. Note: This problem would cause an "Advanced Front Lighting Feature Temporarily Unavailable" warning message to be displayed and the turn signal telltale to flash at the same speed as when a turn signal bulb fails. Safety Risk: Headlights and/or exterior lights that don't work properly could cause reduce visibility and/or make the vehicle less visible to others. Turn signals that don't work properly may cause a person not to recognize when a driver intends to turn or change lanes. These issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the LED driver module.

Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with continuous controlled damping (CCD) shock absorbers. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause an extended stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash. The dealer will replace the rear shock absorbers, rear brake hoses, rear wheel speed sensors, and rear half shafts, as necessary.

  Issue: On certain vehicles, the wiring for the front seats could be damaged when a person uses the tilt function. As a result, certain system in the vehicle may not work properly. Depending on which wires are damaged, the occupant classification system may not work properly. This can cause the passenger airbag to not work properly in a crash. The damage could also cause the driver or passenger front airbag to deploy suddenly without a crash. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with 16-way power front seats. Safety Risk: An airbag that does not deploy properly in a crash could increase the risk of injuries. A sudden airbag deployment when there is no crash could also create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install protective tape on the exposed edge of the cushion frames. The dealer will also inspect the wire harness and repair or replace it, as needed.

If this occurs, the driver may not be alerted by warnings to hold the steering wheel. This system is not designed for hands-free operation. Safety Risk: A driver may not be warned to put their hands back on the steering wheel, which could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer for an update of the software for the Power Steering Control Module.
