Transport Canada recalls

04
  • Structure#2020473

    1,922 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles, the upper cover on the rear spoiler could detach. If this happens, the spoiler cover could separate from the vehicle while driving. Safety Risk: A spoiler cover that detaches could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people, and could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Land Rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the rear spoiler assembly and install additional adhesive to secure it. If the top cover has detached, and was lost or damaged, a new rear spoiler will be installed.

  • Airbag#2018011

    1,328 units affected

On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag module. Note: Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. The recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk, and is expected to replace the passenger frontal airbag module before their function would be affected.

  • Brakes#2015029

    2,838 units affected

On certain vehicles, The front brake hoses may rupture. This could cause a loss of front brake function, causing increased brake pedal travel and reducing braking performance. This could result in increased stopping distances and result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the front brake hoses.

  • Airbag#2009339

    145 units affected

On certain vehicles, a temporary loss of communication through the Control Area Network (CAN) between the passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) and Restraints Control Module (RCM) may cause the passenger airbag to be disabled. Should this occur, the airbag warning lamp will illuminate on the instrument cluster. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a vehicle crash (where it is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury or death to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the RCM with updated software.
