749 units affected
Issue: On certain motorcycles, the return spring inside the front brake master cylinder is not strong enough. As a result, the brake piston may not return to its original position when you release the brake lever. If this happens, the brake lever may move a long distance before the brakes apply and there could be reduced braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: KTM will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the front brake master cylinder piston return spring.

Issue: On certain motorcycles, the rear brake hose may fail due to overheating from extreme braking. If this happens, braking can only be done using the front brake. This would reduce braking performance. Safety Risk: Reduced brake performance can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: KTM will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the rear brake line and hardware with improved parts.
