On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a MiChef brand microwave oven model EM925RZT, the glass in the microwave oven's door may not have been properly adhered to the door during the assembly process. Should the glass fall out while a person is near the microwave, an increased risk of personal injury will result. Correction: Dealers will replace the microwave oven.

Certain travel trailers may have been inadvertently equipped with incorrect axle(s) during vehicle assembly. Consequently, the axle rating may not match the specifications listed on the Certification Label and the Tire and Loading Information Label. As such, the suspension could be unwittingly overloaded, which would result in poor vehicle handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect the axle rating tags and compare them to the Federal Certification Label. If they fail to match, either the axle will be replaced (if under rated) or the label (if over rated).

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. KEYSTONE RV IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 RECREATIONAL VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 12 THROUGH JUNE 19, 2009. THE GLASS MAY NOT BE PROPERLY ADHERED TO THE DOOR IN CERTAIN MICHEF BRAND MODEL EM925RZT MICROWAVE OVENS. ONLY THOSE VEHICLES WITH THE FOLLOWING MICHEF MICROWAVE SERIAL NUMBER RANGE 1363901000001 AND 1353901000756 ARE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
Risk: THE MICROWAVE IS INSTALLED IN AN OVERHEAD CABINET. THE GLASS COULD FALL OUT AND INJURE A NEARBY PERSON.
Remedy: KEYSTONE RV WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE MICROWAVE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 17, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KEYSTONE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-866-425-4369.
- POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY#09V228000
KEYSTONE IS RECALLING 52 MY 2010 PASSPORT TRAVEL TRAILERS FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF PART 567, "CERTIFICATION." THESE VEHICLES WERE MANUFACTURED WITH INCORRECT AXLE(S). THE AXLE RATING MAY NOT MATCH THE SPECIFICATIONS LISTED ON THE FEDERAL CERTIFICATION LABEL AND THE TIRE AND LOADING LABEL.
Risk: TOWING A VEHICLE WITH THE AXLE LOADED BEYOND THE SPECIFIED WEIGHT RATING MAY RESULT IN AXLE FAILURE LEADING TO POOR VEHICLE HANDLING AND AN INCREASED RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE AXLE RATING TAGS, COMPARE TO THE FEDERAL CERTIFICATION LABEL AND THEN IF THEY DO NOT MATCH EITHER REPLACE THE AXLE IF UNDER RATED OR REPLACE THE LABELS IF OVER RATED. THE REMEDY WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 22, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KEYSTONE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-866-425-4369.
