On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain travel trailers, the manual stabilizer jacks attached to the chassis frame may not have been properly installed. This could allow the jacks to become loose and/or to separate and fall from the trailer while in motion, which could create a road hazard and could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the mounting of the four stabilizer jacks and secure them with appropriate fasteners.
- Electrical#2017176
2 units affected
On certain travel trailers, a manual resetting 12 volt breaker was incorrectly installed in an area that contains liquid propane storage. The installed breaker has potential to create a spark if reset manually, which if there were a propane leak, could increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect to see if incorrect breaker was installed and replace as necessary.
- Accessories#2017127
5 units affected
On certain travel trailers, two carbon monoxide detectors were installed instead of one smoke detector and one carbon monoxide detector. This results in the vehicle having no smoke detector, which could increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace one carbon monoxide detector with a smoke detector.
- Accessories#2016551
5 units affected
On certain travel trailers, the fasteners used for the floor decking may have come in contact with the propane cylinder cross tube during assembly. If this occurred, the propane manifold could have been damaged which could create a leak. A propane leak in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of fire causing injury and or/damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the propane manifold as necessary.
- Label#2016406
6 units affected
On certain travel trailers, the certification, tire and loading information labels may contain incorrect information. Additionally, the load range of the tires installed may be different than what is indicated. This could lead to improperly inflated tires, which could affect vehicle handling and stability, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the tires and/or certification label.
