  • Tires#2024242

    50 units affected

Issue: On certain motorcycles, the front tire may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the tire may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. This could cause a tire failure. Safety Risk: A tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Kawasaki will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the front tire.

  • Brakes#2019057

    127 units affected

Issue: On certain motorcycles, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) may have been contaminated when it was made. This could cause the ABS to malfunction and could result in locking of the front or rear tire when the ABS is activated. Safety Risk: A wheel lock-up could cause a loss of stability and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer for an inspection of the ABS hydraulic unit. If it was made within a specific time period, it will be replaced.

  • Brakes#2018687

    112 units affected

On certain motorcycles, the rear brake hose and rear wheel sensor wire may be improperly routed and could come into contact with the rear tire. If the brake hose were to become damaged, it could leak brake fluid and reduce braking performance. If the wheel sensor were to become damaged, ABS functionality could be lost, vehicle speed may not displayed on the meter, and the ABS indicator light could illuminate. These issues could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and ensure the rear brake hose and rear wheel sensor wire are correctly routed. If the rear brake hose and/or rear wheel sensor is found damaged, they will be replaced as necessary.
