Issue: On certain electric motorcycles, the anchor(s) for the battery terminal(s) may not have been installed during production. As a result, the terminal(s) could move and cause the batteries to disconnect. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the rear wheel. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheel could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Kawasaki advises not to ride your motorcycle until the recall repairs are completed. Kawasaki will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect the battery terminal(s). If an anchor is missing, the battery will be replaced.

U.S. NHTSA recalls

Kawasaki Motor Corp., U.S.A. (KMC) is recalling certain 2024 Z e-1 ABS and Ninja e-1 ABS motorcycles. The connection between the battery pack assembly and motorcycle may fail due to a missing battery terminal anchor.
Risk: A failed battery connection can result in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to ride their motorcycle until the repair has been performed. Dealers will inspect the battery terminals and replace the battery if the anchor is missing, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 6, 2025. Owners may contact KMC customer service at 1-866-802-9381. KMC's number for this recall is MC25-03.
