Transport Canada recalls

04
  • Structure#2019262

    44 units affected

Issue: On certain cars, the left-front (driver) door may have been made incorrectly. As a result, it may not meet the minimum strength requirements of Canadian regulations for side impact protection. Safety Risk: A door that does not meet side impact requirements could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their car to a dealer to inspect the left-front door. If the upper intrusion bracket is split, the door will be replaced.

  • Airbag#2019182

    2 units affected

Issue: On certain cars, there is a problem with the airbag control unit. As a result, the side curtain airbags will not work as designed in a rollover crash. Safety Risk: In a rollover crash, the side curtain airbags would not work. This could increase the risk of injury and ejection from the vehicle. Corrective Actions: The company will mail a letter to owners to let you know about this problem. The parts to fix this problem are not available right now. When the parts are available, you will be sent a second letter instructing you to take your car to the company’s authorized service provider to replace the airbag control unit. In addition, the owner's manual will be updated to provide you with information about how the how the airbag warning light and side curtain airbag system work.

  • Visual System#2018388

    11 units affected

Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS 111) - Rearview Mirrors. Affected vehicles were produced with a convex driver's side exterior rearview mirror designed for the non-Canadian market, which makes objects in the mirror appear to be further away than they actually are. This could increase the risk of a crash, which could cause injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver's side exterior rearview mirror as necessary.

  • Airbag#2018094

    15 units affected

On certain vehicles, the rear connection point from the side curtain air bags to the air bag inflators could disengage during deployment. If this occurs, the effectiveness of the side curtain air bags could be reduced, which would increase the risk of injury to the occupants. Correction: Dealers will replace the side curtain airbag modules with an updated design.
