Issue: On a small number of RV trailers, the inverter may not have been grounded. Safety Risk: An inverter that's not grounded could create a risk of shock or electrocution. This could also create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Jayco advises not to use the inverter until the recall repairs have been completed. Jayco will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your RV trailer to a dealership to install a ground for the inverter.

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the fabric for the patio awning may not be properly attached. As a result, the awning could detach and fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: An awning that falls from the trailer could create a risk of injury. An awning that falls from a moving vehicle could create road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealership to inspect the fabric roll on the awning. It will be repaired or replaced, as necessary.

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the propane (LP) regulator could fail. If this happens, high-pressure propane could reach the appliances. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 2021-367. This recall only affects trailers equipped with a Winntec model 6020 propane regulator. Safety Risk: Unregulated propane pressure can create the risk of an appliance fire. Corrective Action: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the propane (LP) regulator.

Issue: On certain travel trailers equipped with frameless windows, the glass may not be properly attached to the metal hinges. As a result, the glass could separate from the hinge and fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: A window that detaches from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your travel trailer to a dealer to inspect the adhesive bonding on the window glass. Dealers will replace the glass, if necessary.

Issue: On certain fifth-wheel trailers, axles with the wrong load rating were installed. The trailer was built with axles rated for 2720 kg (6000 lb.), but it should have axles rated for 3200 kg (7000 lb.) As a result, the trailer could be overloaded. This could cause the leaf springs to fail and/or the axles to bend. Safety Risk: An axle that bends or a spring that fails could cause a loss of control, and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the axles and leaf springs with parts rated for 3200 kg (7000 lb.)

Issue: On certain fifth-wheel trailers, incorrect bolts were used to install the fuel tank. If the tank is not properly attached, it could separate from the trailer and create a fuel leak. Safety Risk: Leaking fuel in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, if the fuel tank separates from the trailer, it could also create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the six bolts that secure the fuel tank brace. Any incorrect bolts will be replaced as required.

Issue: On certain fifth-wheel trailers with hydraulic brakes, the brake hoses may be not be routed properly. As a result, the hoses may be damaged during use. This could cause a brake fluid leak and a loss of brakes. Safety Risk: A loss of brakes can create a risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the four brake hoses inspected. The hoses will be re-routed or replaced, as required.

On certain travel trailers, the steel strap installed to secure to propane tank may have been manufactured incorrectly. This could allow the propane tank to become unsecured and come out of its compartment, which could result in a fire or explosion causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the defective steel straps.

On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. If the trailer was to disconnect from the towed vehicle during transit, the fifth wheel brakes would not be automatically applied, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. If the rivets were to fail, the steps could collapse which could cause a person to fall, resulting in injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the rivets with stronger bolts.

On certain fifth wheels, travel trailers and motorhomes, the electrical motor for the awning could become damaged, allowing the awning to unfurl unexpectedly. As a result, the awning could strike another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the awning motor.
