Issue: On certain trucks, the U-bolts that attach the rear axle to the suspension may not be properly tightened. As a result, the axle could slide back and separate from the propeller shaft. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Isuzu will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect and, if necessary, replace and tighten the rear axle U-bolt nuts.

This could cause the nuts to loosen or fall off, and could result in a wheel separating from the vehicle. Safety Risk: A wheel separation could increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that detaches from a vehicle could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people. Corrective Actions: Isuzu will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the rear-outer wheel lug nuts and tighten them or install new ones, as necessary.

Safety Risk: While the safety risk is minimal, Canadian regulations require that kilometers are displayed. Corrective Actions: The company will send a letter to owners. The letter will ask them to inspect the odometer. If kilometers are displayed, the customer should tell Isuzu and no other action is needed. If miles are displayed, the owner should take their vehicle to a dealer to have the instrument cluster replaced. The new odometer will be programmed to show the number of kilometers traveled.
