  Issue: On certain trucks, the quick release valves for the parking brake may not work properly. As a result, the transmission may not shift into neutral (N) automatically. If this happens, the truck may move suddenly. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the truck could increase the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, International Motors recommends that you confirm the parking brake light is turned on and the transmission is in neutral (N) before exiting the truck until the recall repairs have been completed. International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the quick release valve(s).

Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the alternator positive and ground cables. The dealer will also reroute the alternator ground connection from the frame rail to the starter.

After further investigation, Navistar has determined that this problem will cause the ABS light to turn on, however the brake lights will continue to function. Accordingly, this safety recall was withdrawn. Safety Risk: This problem does not pose a safety risk. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. This notice is for information only. If the ABS light on your truck turns on, you should contact a local International truck repair facility to have it repaired.

Dealers will also inspect and replace any forward bracket found cracked and/or tail pipe that is damaged.

  On certain trucks built with a Cummins X15 or ISX15 engine equipped with nylon fuel lines and a banjo bolt on the fuel pump, a blockage in the fuel cooling system may cause a fuel line to burst. This could result in a significant fuel leak onto the roadway, which would create a road hazard for other motorists. Additionally, this condition could also cause an engine stall without warning, without the ability to restart the engine. Both of these conditions may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Cummins-authorized dealers will replace the affected nylon line with a steel line.
