3,892 units affected
Issue: On certain motorcycles, the gear position switch may malfunction. This can cause the wrong gear to be indicated on the motorcycle's display. As a result, the display could indicate that the motorcycle is in neutral, when it is actually in gear. If you do not follow safe starting procedures, the motorcycle could move suddenly during start-up. Safety Risk: Sudden unintended movement of the motorcycle could increase the risk of injury and/or a crash. Corrective Actions: Indian Motorcycles will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the gear position switch.
- Electrical#2018047
463 units affected
On certain motorcycles, if the vehicle is operated or stored in a wet environment, moisture could enter the trunk wiring harness connection. If moisture were to enter the wiring harness, it could cause an electrical short, which could result in the constant illumination of the brake light, even when the brakes are not applied. This would result in the following road users being unaware of the driver's intentions and could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will remove the affected wiring harness and replace it with an updated wiring harness that contains plugs in the connectors.
- Fuel System#2016616
1,491 units affected
On certain motorcycles, the fuel rail could shift positions and could contact other components and chafe, causing a fuel leak. Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a bracket that limits movement of the fuel rail. Additionally, dealers will inspect fuel rails for damage and replace as necessary.
