On certain motorhomes built on RAM Promaster chassis, the modifications done to the exhaust system to accommodate the Continental Kit (CK) could cause the chassis wiring and bumper to extremely high temperatures. If anyone was to come in contact with the rear bumper shortly after the vehicle was operated it could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will install a new tailpipe to redirect the exhaust down, away and out from under the vehicle.

Erwin Hymer Group North America, Inc. (Erwin Hymer) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Roadtrek E-trek, CS Adventurous, RS Adventurous, SS Agile, Zion, Zion SRT, Simplicity, Simplicity SRT, Hymer Aktiv, Aktiv 2.0, Sonne, Carado Banff, Axion, and Sunlight Van One vehicles. These motorhomes are equipped with Kidde E10 or EH10 Fire Extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher.
Risk: If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.
Remedy: Erwin Hymer will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 8, 2018. Erwin Hymer Group North America, Inc. (Erwin Hymer) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Hymer Aktiv recreational vehicles, built on RAM Promaster chassis and equipped with a Continental kit (CK). The exhaust pipe may melt the rear bumper cover and the vehicle wiring in that area.
Risk: The exhaust heat can melt the taillight wiring, causing the tail light not to function, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the exhaust heat can burn anyone that contacts the bumper cover immediately after the vehicle has been operated.
Remedy: Erwin Hymer has notified owners, and dealers will install a new tailpipe that redirects the exhaust down, away from the bumper area, free of charge. The recall began on September 1, 2017. Owners may contact Erwin Hymer customer service at 1-844-464-3735.
