Issue: On certain motorcycles, a one-way battery vent valve (bleeder valve) was not installed when the motorcycle was built. As a result, water could enter the battery and cause a short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit could lead to injury and/or damage to property. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to inspect the battery. If the vent valve is present, no action is required. If the vent valve is absent, the dealer must order a replacement battery and install the vent valve before returning to the owner. For unsold motorcycles, a battery vent valve will be installed prior to sale.
