Issue: On certain motorcycles, the speedometer cable may not be routed correctly. As a result, the cable could break or detach from the pinion gear on the front wheel. If this happens, the speedometer wouldn't display the vehicle speed. Safety Risk: Riding a motorcycle without a speedometer could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a Honda Powersports dealership to replace and re-route the speedometer cable.
