    6,923 units affected

    Issue: On certain motorcycles, the handlebar lock screw may not have been installed properly. As a result, the screw could loosen and fall between the frame and the steering stem. If this happens, the screw could interfere with the steering and cause a loss of steering control. Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2026-114. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the handlebar lock screw and apply a thread-locking compound.

  • STEERING: STEERING WHEEL/HANDLE BAR#26V500000

    Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2023, 2025 CMX500, 2017-2023, 2025-2026 CMX300, and 2025 Honda SCL500 motorcycles. The handlebar lock screw may loosen and detach.

    Risk: A detached screw may lodge between the frame and stem, interfering with steering and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

    Remedy: Dealers will replace the lock screw and apply thread lock, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed September 21, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in Winter 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KUO. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 26V146. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning August 4, 2026.

    Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 CMX300, CMX500, and CL500 motorcycles. The handlebar lock screw may loosen and detach.

    Risk: A detached screw may lodge between the frame and stem, interfering with steering and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

    Remedy: Dealers will replace the lock screw and apply thread lock, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 15, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KUO. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning March 21, 2026.
