On certain vehicles, the engines may have produced with improper retention of the connecting rod wrist pin bushing, causing the bushing to move out of position. If the vehicle is operated with this condition, the connecting rod could break resulting in a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the defective connecting rod wrist pin assemblies.
