Issue: A small number of RV trailers were equipped with safety chains that are not strong enough. As a result, if the trailer becomes uncoupled from the tow vehicle, the safety chains could break. This could allow the trailer to detach from the tow vehicle. Safety Risk: A trailer that separates from the tow vehicle could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Highland Ridge RV will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to replace the safety chains with stronger ones.

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the circuit board for the LED light rings on the cooktop knobs could fail. As a result, the wiring and/or LED lights could overheat and melt. Note: This recall only affects RV trailers equipped with certain Suburban cooktops. Safety Risk: Wiring and/or lights that overheat and melt can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Highland Ridge will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to disable or remove the LED light rings.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the interior cooktop burner could be affected by the operation of the furnace. This could potentially cause the burner flame to invert. Safety Risk: An inverted burner flame could create the risk of a burn injury or cause a fire. Corrective Actions: Highland Ridge will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to seal any gaps that could allow return air from the furnace to cause an inverted flame on the cooktop. To minimize the safety risk, Highland Ridge recommends that the furnace and interior cooktop should not be used at the same time before the recall repairs have been completed.

Corrective Actions: Highland Ridge will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealership to inspect the fabric roll on the awning. It will be repaired or replaced, as necessary.

Issue: On certain travel trailers equipped with a Dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Action: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. To reduce the safety risk, Jayco recommends that you should not use the propane system or any propane appliance in the trailer until the recall repairs have been completed.

Issue: On certain motorhomes equipped with frameless windows, the glass may not be properly attached to the metal hinges. As a result, the glass could separate from the hinge and fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: A window that detaches from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to inspect the adhesive bonding on the window glass. Dealers will replace the glass, if necessary.

The rear and spare tire pressures are listed as 5521 kPa and 5527 kPa, when they should be 552 kPa. All of the imperial data provided is correct. Safety Risk: These small errors are unlikely to affect safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has made production changes to ensure that all new vehicles meet the requirements of Canadian regulations.

On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain travel trailers, the outside range could be stored inside the unit with the gas valve left open. If this occurs, gas could enter the unit and build up. Gas in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a newly designed gas valve handle, inspect the drawer guide for proper location, repair it as required and put a new label indicating that the gas valve must be turned prior to storing the outside range.

On certain travel trailers, a CAUTION label informing owners not to leave the drain valve open to prevent an escape of sewer gas was omitted during production. If the drain valve is left open, it could result in sewer gas potentially filling the recreational vehicle, which would increase the risk of asphyxiation to occupants. Correction: Highland Ridge RV will send a CAUTION label to current owners with instructions for proper placement. If owners are not comfortable installing the label themselves, they can take the label to a Highland Ridge RV dealer for installation.
